Hello Rummagers. Some of you have been asking questions about how Covid-19 will affect our Suitcase Rummage events this weekend. We appreciate your concern, and understand this is an unsettling time. Thank you for your patience whilst we check in with the latest advice from local authorities.
We will be going ahead with our South Melbourne Suitcase Rummage & Canberra Suitcase Rummage scheduled for tomorrow. We will be going ahead with our Suitcase Rummage in Brisbane City scheduled for Sunday. If any further recommendations or guidelines change from our national health authorities, then we will of course adhere to those and make any necessary changes.
As per the COAG meeting on Friday, the Prime Minister advised that non-essential events with more than 500 people should be cancelled from Monday onwards, as a precautionary measure to help address the spread of Covid-19. The press conference encouraged event goers to stick to their plans this weekend, so long as they are feeling healthy.
If you are attending a Suitcase Rummage market this weekend, we ask that you keep calm, and follow the guidelines put forward by our health departments, such as:
– Practising good hygiene and washing your hands regularly
– Using respiratory etiquette and covering your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze
– Staying at home if you feel unwell, have recently travelled overseas or have had contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19
Of course there are no pressures or obligations from us to attend our markets if you don’t feel comfortable. Please make the best decision based on what feels right for you, based on your personal health and wellbeing.
As for our Rummage markets beyond Monday, we will of course be guided the national and state health departments as how to proceed – and we will keep all our registered stalls and Rummagers as up to date as possible.
If anyone has any questions, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to assist you as best we can.
Big thank you,
Team Rummage xoxo
