Stall Feature of the Month!

Stall Feature of the Month!

If you’ve ever been to a Brisbane City Suitcase Rummage, you’d probably recognise John and his vintage suitcases covered in stickers. John loves a loud shirt and can often be spotted talking about comic books, superhero paraphernalia and hilarious stickers (all of which he also happens to sell). His set up is impressive, and so is the man himself! He’s been Rummaging with us for so long that we figured it was about time to share his passion, excitement and greatness with you all! We hope he never tires of doing what he loves and continues to entertain us with his stories forever more!

Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do? I am a planetary-situated biped carbon-based life-form currently in a symbiotic relationship with a beautiful red-headed carbon-based life-form, similarly situated. Apart from an unending and mindless devotion to oxygen consumption, I collect old toys and comic books, and make high-quality low-brow bumper stickers.

Why do you do what you do? Why do mudskippers skip mud? Why did a man called Armstrong PRETEND TO walk upon the Moon? It’s my schtick! I gotta!!!

Who are some other artists, crafters, creatives that you love? And why? David Lynch, Alan Moore; and My Beloved Wife… Insanely brilliant film-maker, artist/revolutionary comic book writer/subversive painter; and life-partner [respectively].

What excites you? All of the above [especially the beautiful red-headed carbon-based life-form]. (John is referring to his wife!)

We think of a rummage stall as a mini shopfront, how do you make your rummage stall your own? By pouring my personality into the dumb-humour stickers we make, which decorate the cases that contain our way-out gear, baby!

Can you offer any tips on setting up a rummage stall? Keep it tidy! TIDY!!!

What is the next step for you? What does the future hold? All I am capable of is the One-Small- Step-For-A-Man [see previous fake moon landing reference]… and the Future is a slobbering, multi-tailed scorpion with lots of life [that is, bright, rosy and filled with smiley emoticons!].

What’s your favourite place or thing to do in your city? HULK LIKE RAD-A- CLIFFE-PLAAACE! HULK LIKE SUIT-CAAASE!!! i.e. attending the Suitcase Rummage in Redacliffe place [also referred to as Brisbane Square].

Where we can we find and follow you? www.lost2reality.com, www.cratercritters.com and ebay ID chocolatefrog, and at most Brisbane City Suitcase Rummages!
