Waste Free Tips: TP

Waste Free Tips: TP

We’d like to introduce a new segment to our blog – Suitcase Rummages Waste Free Tips! We’ve been thinking about tips and tricks we can share with you, to help us all lead more sustainable lives and make smarter choices for the environment.

Wipe your hands free from guilt, with these 100% recycled, toilet paper alternatives.

With the current state of things with the COVID-19 outbreak  – we are all looking for ways to prioritise our health and safety. It’s hard to think about the environment at a time like this, when we’re all looking for ways to avoid coming into contact with the virus, and we’re seeing a significant increase in single use options as a way to avoid germs. We’ve noticed the promotion of using paper towels, single use coffee cups, wet wipes and face masks. There are times when these things are important, and now is the time! But it does make us think… Are there some ways that we can still think about the environment right now?

One of the most topical products during the COVID-19 outbreak has been…TOILET PAPER!

We’re all going crazy for toilet paper, and it’s scary to think about running out of such a vital item.

Due to the overconsumption of toilet paper, we’re facing major shortages and we realise that a lot of our rummager’s may be finding it hard to source their TP. Please keep in mind, this is just a guide, and we realise desperate times cause for desperate measures – get what you can get! Here are a few things to think about for the future of toilet paper consumption.

We’re on a roll here… And we’ve done a bit of research on which brands of loo paper to buy and a few reasons why it’s best to buy 100% recycled toilet paper!

Why should we buy 100% recycled toilet paper?

– Using recycled paper means fewer trees are cut down, dramatically reducing the destruction of old-growth forests that provide homes for animals and protect from soil erosion

– Products made from recycled paper use 50% less energy and 90% less water
