About

Suitcase Rummage is your local community market, without the hassle! Pack your suitcase with your pre-loved wares and/or handmade creations and sell straight out of your suitcase. It’s as easy as that!

We provide the insurance. There are no tents, no tables, no racks, no overheads and most importantly, no elitism.

Suitcase Rummage as a social enterprise began as a humble alternative to the community market scene, where mass produced items reigned and local makers and collectors struggled to compete. The idea was born over a cup of tea by two young gals (Daniele & Isabel) desperate for change.

What started as a grass roots market in Brisbane has grown to become a sustainable market alternative across the country. We herald recycling, encourage more conscious consumption and connect community!

We encourage local communities to vote with their dollar, create more conscious consumer habits and to think differently about products they produce and purchase. We aim to present an alternative platform for clothing and product consumption by encouraging practices of crafting, making, creating, designing, recycling, upcycling, swapping and bartering. Through the Rummage we are diverting products from landfill, encouraging a revolution of goods and good-will by caring about where stuff comes from and where it may end up. Recycling is cool, hand made is cool, cool can be affordable. By gently shifting our attitudes and consumer patterns, we are capable of radical change!

"To change the system, we must change the culture it thrives in." (Fashion Revolution)
